We have immediate opportunities for experienced Senior and Principal Engineer grades (Mechanical) to take on a role as part of a major project team based on site in Plymouth. The role will involve leading and delivering engineering solutions for a wide range of technical design packages. Role Location: Some of the work can be fulfilled via remote working; however, this role is predominantly site-based to develop technical information and engage with AtkinsRéalis and their client teams. Reasonable expenses for travel to site and accommodation, where required, will be provided. Secondment Details: Please note that this role requires full-time attendance on site, based in Plymouth. It will be discussed with you at interview. Our full-time roles offer a working week that allows for 4 longer days on site and a shorter Friday working from home or AtkinsRéalis office. Responsibilities: Lead engineering resource in the delivery of one or more technical design packages. Delivery of engineering solutions for large-scale packages of work. Undertake Design following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels. Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions. Production of all technical deliverables including client presentation and engagement. Preparation of briefs, scopes of work, and develop fee/bid proposals. Management of internal design resource in producing elements of the design. Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. Engagement with internal and third-party specialists and resources. Engagement with suppliers and manufacturers to establish appropriate solutions. Review and verification of design practices and technical solutions as part of a wider team. Attendance at internal and external co-ordination, progress, and design review meetings. Requirements: Dockyard or MOD design experience preferred. Appropriate qualification in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficiency using technical software, drawing, and calculation packages. Flexible attitude and enthusiastic approach to work and level of responsibility given. Be self-motivated to produce high-quality deliverables. Achieved or working towards professional registration (CEng, MCIBSE, or equivalent qualification). What we offer?
