Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 3 years.

We are looking for a creative, energetic and hard-working candidate who intends to join a European consortium project towards AI modelling of complex diseases, i.e. Multiple Sclerosis or others.

The candidate will develop machine learning, network and computational modelling methodologies for the identification of early multi-omic markers of disease onset and progression using multi-omic and clinical data. The project aims at implementing decision trees and causality inference to identify trajectories deviations from healthy ageing leading to the disease as well as disease progression (based on comorbidities).

Candidates will have completed a Masters-level degree in a relevant field along with a good knowledge of machine learning (particularly bioinformatics) and medical terminology. Some modelling mentality and programming fluency is taken for granted, but a proven quick learner, willing to try their hand at new things, is preferable to someone with lots of experience.

Candidates will need to meet all prerequisites for admission to the PhD programme in Computer Science (please refer to:

https://www.cst.cam.ac.uk/admissions/phd ). If the candidate registers as a full-time PhD student at the University and studies for the degree, the candidate may apply to pay staff rate tuition fees for the PhD.
