**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.** An outstanding opportunity for a part-time Medical Secretary within the specialty of A&E and Acute and Cardiology has arisen. Would you like to take on a role that provides you with ownership of your workload? Would you like to be creative in your approach and be responsible for supporting to ensure our patients receive the best quality of care by using your skills, experience and our trust's values and behaviours? You will have medical typing qualifications and previous experience as a Medical Secretary. You will have excellent communication skills and be particularly caring and understanding. Experience in the use of Medisec, Digital Dictation, PAS and e-Referral would be an advantage. Hours per week: 37.5 - Cardiology (Monday - Friday) Hours per week: 22.5 - A&E and Acute (Monday - Wednesday) Main duties of the job

To manage the office administration of the Consultant and designated medical staff and provide an efficient and effective secretarial service. The postholder acts as the first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultant and their team. The postholder requires excellent organisational skills, medical audio typing and a sound knowledge of medical terminology. About us

Qualifications

5 GCSE's or equivalent, grade C (4) or above. Must include English. Typing qualifications to RSAIII (Royal Society of Arts) standard. Computer literate to ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) standard or equivalent. AMSPAR (The Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Managers, Administrators and Receptionists) Diploma. Experience

Previous experience as a Medical Secretary. Hospital-based experience. Knowledge and Skills

Medical terminology. Fast and accurate audio-typing. Good communicator - able to deal with people at all levels, including where there are barriers to understanding, using tact, diplomacy, and persuasion. Effective organisational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information without compromising confidentiality or trust. Knowledge of Medisec. Experience with Patient Management System. Awareness of NHS policies.
