NHS UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL – CONSULTANT GERIATRICS HCOP VACANCY – MIDLANDS
We have been assigned by one of the largest University Teaching Hospitals in the NHS to recruit either an NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant or Substantive Consultant Geriatrician HCOP.
Based in the North Midlands, our client is a Centre of Excellence in the clinical care, teaching and research of Health Care of Older People (HCOP).
The specialty of HCOP sits managerially within the Division of Medicine alongside Acute Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Stroke Medicine, Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. The Division of Medicine is split into 3 directorates. HCOP sits within the Integrated Care Directorate with Stroke.
The service has the ambition to enable Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for all older people with frailty that might benefit within the catchment area. This ambition has seen an increase in consultant geriatrician numbers over the last five to ten years, providing opportunities to develop new and innovative models of service delivery. These posts are an indication of our client's ongoing determination to expand and innovate to meet the needs of our patient constituency.
