The Divisional Managing Director will support the Divisional Clinical Director in providing high-level operational and strategic business planning and leadership to ensure that the Division provides high quality patient care and achieves its performance objectives. This includes ensuring high quality patient care, patient safety, clinical quality and governance, the delivery of agreed performance and financial objectives, and ensuring that the Division operates with the needs of patients as its highest priority.

Main duties of the job

The Divisional Managing Director will be accountable to the Divisional Clinical Director and will ensure that services within the division are delivered within budget, to agreed quality standards, in accordance with the Division's Strategic objectives against required activity levels and are designed to deliver an exemplary patient experience. Take a lead role in supporting compliance with key financial and access requirements. Provide strategic leadership and professional advice within the Division within a climate of change that enables high quality services to be delivered to patients and families consistently. This role will be responsible for the development and provision of transformational leadership across all clinical services to ensure and consistently develop a safe, high-quality, cost-effective service for patients, families, and carers.

It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county. This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Degree level qualification plus higher-level management qualification at master's or equivalent level. Significant additional role-related and personal development training commensurate with a very senior management post. Previous Experience

Essential

Significant experience at very senior manager level in the NHS. Demonstrates experience of delivery across organisational boundaries. Desirable

Experience in an acute trust. Knowledge, Skills and Aptitudes

Essential

Experience of performance managing others to ensure organisation delivery and success. Must be a highly credible leader with experience of building relationships with a range of stakeholders. Experience of problem solving at the most senior level. Ability to analyse highly complex areas of work to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and to ensure these materialise in a sustainable way. Experience of understanding and interpreting relevant national policy in a complex organisational environment. Standard keyboard skills. Specific Requirements

Essential

Experience of strategic long-term planning. Experience of managing complexity such as managing numerous work streams/projects whilst simultaneously delivering on performance targets to tight deadlines.
