As a leading M&E subcontractor, they specialise in designing and installing building services nationwide. The Project As a highly experienced Mechanical Site Manager, you will have a key role as part of the M&E team on a £5m plant room conversion in South West London. You will oversee the mechanical package, ensuring the seamless installation and upgrade of plant room systems. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular inspections, maintaining stringent quality control, and collaborating closely with clients, design teams, and other key stakeholders. Your expertise will ensure the project progresses smoothly, meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and achieving the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Requirements For this role, it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum: SMSTS CSCS Card First Aid It is also essential that you hold the experience below: Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous but not required. Extensive background within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working in a Mechanical Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor. Additional skills: Quality control Strong mechanical knowledge Impressive leadership and mentoring abilities Capacity to prioritise health and safety effectively Good knowledge of construction laws and regulations A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations pertaining to finishing tasks In-depth understanding of mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, and plumbing Strong written and verbal communication skills with a thorough meticulous eye for detail The Role Job Title:

Visiting Contracts Manager Duties Inductions Safety briefings Oversee subcontractors Liaise with and manage electrical subcontractor Reporting regularly to the Visiting Contracts Manager Conduct routine safety audits and on-site inspections Address technical issues on-site and implement effective solutions Ensure work proceeds in accordance with the project plan and schedule Approve invoices for mechanical work and manage contractor payments Guarantee that all site operations comply with health and safety regulations Monitor project expenses and efficiently manage resources to stay within budget Manage the procurement of materials and equipment to guarantee timely delivery Resolve any issues with materials, labor, or equipment that could delay the project Assess the quality of work to ensure it meets project specifications and standards effectively Coordinate with design teams to handle any discrepancies between design and site conditions Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing them with updates on the status of the project Collaborate with other trades (electrical, civil, etc.) to coordinate mechanical work and prevent conflicts Implement quality control measures to ensure that mechanical installations adhere to design standards Inform and update stakeholders about any changes, delays, or issues related to mechanical installations Prepare cost estimates and anticipate any potential additional expenses that may arise during the project Inspect mechanical work at various project stages to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations Participate in project meetings to update on the status of mechanical work, timelines, and any potential risks Maintain detailed records of all mechanical activities, including completed work, inspections carried out, and any challenges encountered Oversee the testing and commissioning processes for mechanical systems to ensure they function correctly and meet performance standards Make certain that workers receive training and adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) This is a freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
