Overview Entegro is currently seeking experienced Core Fibre Splicers to join our team in a sub-contracting capacity. As a Core Fibre Splicer, you will play a crucial role in supporting Entegro's mission to expand and enhance fibre optic networks across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled professionals to contribute to the growth of a dynamic and forward-thinking company while leveraging their expertise in fibre splicing.

The successful contractors will have responsibility for the delivery of the client core fibre splicing project(s). In this role, you will be reporting to the Client Contract Manager, working as part of the Entegro Core Fibre Field Works Team, based out of the UK. You will be responsible for Core Splicing of Client Live Network working at customer site locations as the fibre splicing activity dictates and ensure that the project splicing deliverables meets Entegro & the client expectations. Responsibilities Compliance with Client’s change management processes, including strict adherence to Client site entry/exit protocols as managed by their Access Control Centre. Experience of working in major telco central office/exchange/data centre sites; competent working with complex ODF installations and fibre routing through large buildings. Be available to Work Split Shifts in a working week as work packs require. Excellent knowledge of core splicing work on live network which should be reflected in both quality and efficiency of splicing throughput. Work with design schematics, fibre splicing schedules and works instructions. Install strap cables between joints as required. Prep, Splice & Test Fibre Cable on various sites. Testing capability to be able to perform ILM, OTDR, CD & PMD including uploading results to Client Portal. All works to be recorded and documented as per client requirements. Adhere and compliance to all company and legislative Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies. Report and escalate to CM / Site Supervisor as needed. Reporting progress daily according to project processes. Ability to work effectively, efficiently with good attention to detail, recognising the critical importance and dependency of core fibre infrastructure to their client business. Skills Required Min 3 years’ experience in a similar position. Knowledgeable on all aspects of Core splicing and has capability for understanding and interpreting complex Splicing Schedules. Able to demonstrate capabilities, experience and acceptance testing using OTDR, ILM, CD & PMD testers, including management of the resulting test files. Excellent at troubleshooting and problem solving as issues arise. Ability to multi-task and work to a high standard. Excellent communication skills in English written and verbal and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and able to take initiative, self-manage workload without supervision. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team. Organized, flexible and proactive approach to work. Willingness to travel as required. Proficient in Microsoft software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.) Proficient in the use of tablet, phones and PCs. Must have own vehicle and testing equipment.
