The Financial Controller position is a newly created role primarily responsible for leading and developing the Finance function in the provision of timely and accurate financial information. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role is ideal for the right candidate to shape and influence the finance function and support the delivery of our wider business plan to senior management. Key Financial Responsibilities: STRATEGIC Providing leadership and guidance to and development of Finance function. Responsibility for input to wider business plan through budget and long-range planning process. Support due diligence on growth strategy. Review customer and supplier operational and commercial relationships, e.g. terms, pricing. Review and develop business continuity plan. OPERATIONAL Written and verbal communication to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team. Financial processes review and development. Lead role in margin and cashflow improvement targets. Preparation and responsibility for internal financial reports (Weekly cashflow, Monthly Management Accounts, Quarterly Projections). Review and develop KPI reporting – customer and project profitability analysis. Balance sheet reconciliations. Supervision of preparation and responsibility for external financial reports (Audited Accounts). SUPPORT Ensure compliance and controls are fit for purpose. Monthly VAT Returns and other HMRC regulatory requirements. Tax planning. Finance lease review. Lead on cashflow management and introduce opportunities for improvement. Background and Experience: Fully qualified Accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA). Solid Financial & Management Accounting experience. Lead and develop a small finance team. Ability to provide quality Management Information. A desire to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment. The ability to build and lead a growing finance function. Form part of the Senior Management Team and embrace the journey. Additional Information: This role is based onsite 5 days per week, with parking available, and the business provides flexibility around start/finish times as required. This is a growing business; the role and responsibilities will also grow. The business is open to this role being 4 days per week. Job Types:
