Job Description: My client is seeking a skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join their team. This is a crucial role in which you will be responsible for optimising the logistics and transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing overall operational efficiency whilst working closely with drivers and other departments. Key Responsibilities: Route Planning: Develop and optimise transportation routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimising costs and fuel consumption. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transport operations comply with UK and EU regulations and safety standards. Cost Management: Monitor and analyse transport costs, identifying areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions. Technology Utilisation: Use transport management software and telematics systems for real-time tracking and route optimisation. Communication: Liaise with drivers and internal teams to coordinate deliveries. Data Analysis: Analyse transport data to identify trends, optimise operations, and prepare reports for management. Team Collaboration: Work with Account Managers and other departments to ensure seamless operations. Deliveries: Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in full. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in transport planning or logistics within the haulage industry is essential. Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage time efficiently. Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication for interacting with colleagues. IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with transport management software. Attention to Detail: Accuracy in handling data entry, reports, and documentation. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address issues and come up with solutions quickly and efficiently. Additional Requirements: Understanding of UK transport regulations and compliance. Knowledge of sustainability practices in transport (preferred).
