7 hours per month Scottish Adoption & Fostering are seeking to appoint an experienced Independent Panel Chair and voluntary Panel Members. The panel has an oversight of recruitment and assessment of prospective adopters and foster carers. Independent Panel Chair

The

Independent Panel Chair

will be a qualified social worker with at least five years post-qualification experience and registered with or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council. We are looking for a competent and accomplished professional who has considerable expertise in chairing complex meetings and the skills to effectively manage the adoption and fostering panel. Time commitment will be for approximately 12 half day panels per year with a renumeration of £250 per half day panel. Interested candidates should fill in the Application Form and EDI and return them by Sunday 9th February. Interview Date is set for Monday 17th February. Voluntary Panel Members

Voluntary Panel Members will be people who understand the needs of care experienced children and what it takes to be a great adoptive parent or foster carer. This could come from your personal journey or work in areas like education, social work, or health. You’ll need to be comfortable reading reports, having meaningful discussions, and making fair, evidence-based recommendations during Panel. The expectation for this role would be to cover approximately 5 half day panels per year. We’d especially love applications from people with minority backgrounds to ensure our Panel reflects the diversity of the Adoptive Parents, Foster Carers and children we support.
