Overview of the role To provide leadership on the supervision and direction of Planning Officers and support staff and functional leadership on the development.

Summary of Responsibilities and Duties Team Leadership and Operational Management : Provide day-to-day leadership, ensure compliance and performance standards, conduct appraisals, manage team targets, and address performance issues in line with policies. Planning Application and Case Management : Determine planning applications, act as case officer, handle related appeals and enforcement actions, and prepare reports, including Committee presentations and legal inquiries. Stakeholder Engagement and Advisory Role : Establish effective relationships with stakeholders, provide guidance to staff, advise senior officers and Members on strategic and operational matters, and respond to planning-related media or security concerns. Strategic and Developmental Contributions : Produce development briefs and planning documents, contribute to Service objectives, and deputies for the Development Management Manager at meetings and events as needed.
