The Project
As a highly experienced Site Manager, you will play a crucial role in a new build residential development in Sunderland. Your responsibilities will include overseeing foundation works, drainage systems, retaining walls, and external areas, while managing daily operations on site. You will coordinate with contractors and trades, enforce health and safety compliance, and monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring the project's overall success.

For this role, it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum:
SMSTS
First Aid
CSCS Card
It is also essential that you hold the following experience:
Proven history of successfully delivering plot work packages on residential schemes
Extensive background in the industry with at least 5 years of experience in a Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractor
Additional Skills:
Superb negotiation abilities
Competent IT/software skills
Extensive health and safety knowledge
Effective communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to organize and manage project schedules
A solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
Proven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectively
In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications

Duties:
Conduct on-site safety inductions
Liaise with the principal contractor
Coordinate with external stakeholders
Conduct and attend routine site meetings
Report and work closely with the Visiting Contracts Manager
Handle any issues or conflicts that arise throughout the project
Comply with health and safety regulations throughout all work operations
Oversee package costs, maintaining alignment with the established budget
Identify possible threats to the works and implement effective strategies to address them
Coordinate and manage daily site activities, overseeing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
Manage resources such as materials, equipment, and labor to ensure they are used efficiently and effectively
Serve as the principal contact between the project team, clients, and stakeholders, delivering regular updates on project progress
Maintain accurate documentation of all project components, including contracts, permits, change orders, and communications
Enhance and maintain positive client relationships by resolving concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with project developments
