This position is for a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching position in Landscaping. Salary Rate: $51,500.02 annually Applicants in possession of a master’s degree (official transcripts) may be eligible for an additional $1,499.94 annually. Possession of a temporary or professional teaching certificate may be eligible for a one-time $1,000 hiring bonus. SALARY WILL BE APPLIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH PAY POLICY. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE APPOINTED AT THE ABOVE LISTED APPOINTMENT RATE. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent in this position is responsible for teaching the assigned career and technical subject(s) to students at a correctional institution/facility. Duties include but will not be limited to the following: Plans, develops, and conducts classes in the assigned subject(s). Utilizes various teaching techniques and activities to assist students with their educational advancement. Responsible for the supervision of inmates assigned to the class. Conducts roll calls, counts, and maintains attendance records. Ensures that order and discipline, tool control, and safety are maintained in the classroom and/or shop. Continually evaluates students and makes determinations as to overall progress. Administers grades and evaluates tests. Counsels and advises individuals regarding their program progress, behavior, or personal concern. Participates in staff meetings, seminars, and workshops to identify needed curriculum changes and to facilitate professional development. Beginning July 1, 2024, there is no longer a reemployment limitation; beginning with the 7th calendar month from the member's distribution date, there are no restrictions on working for an FRS employer. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or its equivalent and three (3) years’ experience in the CTE subject area being taught; or

Possession of current licensure or certification(s) in the CTE being taught or a postsecondary certificate of completion (must submit transcript/certificate of completion) may substitute for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

Must hold the applicable subject area license or industry certification or be willing to possess within 12 months of hire. Possess or be eligible to apply for a
