Production Supply Chain Planner

based so you must live within a commutable distance of the Melsonby office. The Production Supply Chain Planner will be required to procure components and assemblies to the agreed plans for mainline products and project requirements. This includes developing partnerships and relations through liaising, meetings, and negotiations with vendors to ensure deliveries within terms, conditions, and company policies, as well as assessing potential clients and maintaining measurement of supplier performance. Key Responsibilities
Using minimised numbers of suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, placement of purchase orders and expediting to achieve maximum cost benefit to the company. Organising the placement of purchase orders to fill the MRP requirements each week and maintain component supply per the production plan. Effectively managing sub-contractors ensuring that supplies meet the output plans. Planning and scheduling components from suppliers to meet manufacturing plans. Regularly reviewing forecasts with all areas of the business for specified products and entering on SAP as designated. Analysing MPS and MRP reports as required. Continuously seeking measurable improvement opportunities which will contribute to the company’s profitability. Liaising with other departments, exchanging information and providing Supply Chain Management support to their functions. Maintaining records of supplier performance, communicating with each supplier to improve performance, and implementing corrective actions where necessary. Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, source details, lead times, and prices on SAP. Resolving problems arising from unclear information on requisitions, specifications, and drawings. Attending meetings and providing reports and product information as required. Supporting requirements for the introduction of new products and customer enquiries. What we are looking for
CIPS Level 3 or equivalent NVQ Level 3 or A level equivalent qualification. Minimum of 3 years experience in supply chain management within the manufacturing industry. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in supply chain management software and tools such as ERP systems (SAP would be an advantage), MPS, MRP, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Demonstrable capability in handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative with minimal day-to-day supervision. Ability to commute to the Melsonby office on a daily basis. Right to live and work in the UK.
