The Role We are looking for a Head of Events, for a 3-month fixed term contract, to cover a period of parental leave. The Head of Events will be responsible for all aspects of event planning and management at Maslow’s for revenue generating events. You will lead a team in actively pursuing existing leads as well as proactively attracting new clients, with the goal to create repeat business, whilst remaining an Ambassador for the House and building long lasting relationships with our members and partners. Responsibilities: Event Management: Develop and implement a strategic vision for events at Mortimer House and 1 Warwick. Proactively sell event spaces to internal and external clients. Lead responses to private hire and dining inquiries, ensuring a professional and timely approach. Create and present event proposals aligned with client requirements. Plan and oversee all aspects of events, delegating tasks as needed. Conduct post-event follow-ups with clients. Anticipate and address potential operational issues within the venues. Maintain the established Events Journey and Process. Financial and Reporting: Create and report on the annual budget for the Events department. Prepare monthly board reports for the leadership team. Provide post-event follow-up reports to the wider team. Team Management: Manage and develop the Events team, fostering growth and mentorship. Delegate event planning tasks to team members, including Events Coordinator, F&B Manager, Bar Manager, etc. Run weekly events meetings with all Heads of Departments. Collaborate with the marketing team to maximize the effective use of the events diary. Sales and Client Relations: Establish repeat business with both internal and external clients. Communicate directly with clients from initial inquiry to event delivery. Create sales opportunities during client interactions and events. Conduct site visits/tours for potential clients. Assist in developing attractive offers and packages for clients. Essential Skills: Sales experience in a hospitality-driven, fast-paced, client-facing environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Experience in developing and mentoring team members. Clear communication skills with the ability to explain concepts effectively. Positive, friendly attitude with a people-person mentality. Results-oriented, motivated, and adaptable to change.
