About My Client: Established 10 years ago, my client is an independent, specialist archaeology and built heritage consultancy, known for providing highly skilled, pragmatic advice to the planning, development, and construction sectors. As experts in heritage, they are recognised for delivering exceptional solutions to complex challenges in the built environment.

Role Overview: As a Principal Built Heritage Consultant, you will take the lead in managing the built heritage team, delivering high-profile and complex projects that contribute to the preservation and development of the UK's historic environment. Your responsibilities will include conducting research, drafting reports, offering expert advice, managing client and subcontractor relationships, attending meetings, and preparing planning appeals. In addition to managing projects, you will mentor junior team members, ensuring the highest standards are maintained and that projects are delivered efficiently.

Your Skills and Experience: To succeed as a Principal Built Heritage Consultant, you will need:

A deep understanding of the policy and legislative framework governing UK archaeology, with the ability to connect research themes to practical project requirements. A degree in archaeology, architecture, conservation, or a related field. Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members. A passion for innovation and a commitment to making a positive impact on built heritage.
