Thursday 13th February The Role: You will work across a project with a focus on two areas of support: hate crime and criminal justice. This role will involve working with and supporting individuals and families from Gypsy and Traveller communities who are affected by the criminal justice system and anyone who has previously experienced, or is currently experiencing any form of hate crime. About You: With empathy and interpersonal and relationship-building skills, you will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in stressful situations. You will have the ability to: Support individuals and engage them with relevant services. Build trusting and effective relationships with our members. Remain balanced and nonjudgmental while listening to individuals. Encourage and inspire people to recognise and build on their own strengths. Network and form good working connections with external services and partners across West Yorkshire. Use a computer, including proficiency in the use of word processing and data entry tools. The overall aim of the charity is to improve the quality of life for Gypsies and Travellers through addressing inequalities in homes, health, education, employment, financial and social inclusion. There are a number of community-facing and strategic projects to achieve aims including advocacy, community development, and youth work. You may also have experience in areas such as Criminal Justice, Hate Crime, Criminal Justice Advocacy, Social Welfare, Victim Support, Case Worker, Social Worker, Support Worker, Victim Support Worker.
