Here, you’ll work in a vibrant environment, in a rewarding role and for a college that values your contribution. Here, you will belong.

Who we need

Join Our Vibrant Personal Development Team at Nottingham College!

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Personal Development Team, supporting our students to become ‘Future Ready’ across various levels. This role is maternity cover and we are looking to have someone start with us in March for up to 12 months.

As a Personal Development Tutor, you will collaborate closely within the team to create and deliver an effective tutorial programme. This includes facilitating sessions aimed at developing personal characteristics, social skills, and employability skills. You'll provide students with the support and guidance they need to achieve success, realise their potential, and progress to the next level. You will be responsible for looking after a number of tutor groups, delivering group tutorials, meeting with students on a 1-1 basis (where appropriate), supporting attendance, and liaising with parents/guardians.

You should hold GCSE A* – C in English and Maths, or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate evidence of managing groups of students, along with good ICT and administration skills. As this is a post requiring group delivery of tutorials, there is an expectation that you will hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.

What you’ll bring

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the student experience is of the highest quality, and support students to broaden their experiences and take advantage of opportunities from a college-wide perspective and beyond.

You should be passionate about students achieving their potential and be proactive in putting the mechanisms of support in place to make sure we prepare students not only for college life but also for life and work beyond college.

The ideal candidate will have experience and a passion for the pastoral care of students and be able to signpost students to the most appropriate support mechanisms efficiently.

This post will have a training/induction period with ongoing training throughout your time with the college to ensure we maintain the highest standards of education for our students and professional development for our staff.

Interviews / Assessments are planned for: w/c commencing 10 February 2025
