The post holder will deliver evidence-based interventions to clients of Dr Craig Dunn & Associates Ltd, as part of its delivery of mental health services support across Glasgow. In addition, you will have a commitment to improving our child and adolescent services, community engagement, and relationships with important stakeholders as well as supervise counselling psychologists in training. Main Duties: Provide high-quality specialist interventions to individuals and adolescents across a wide range of problem areas (including anxieties in separation, neurodiversity, OCD, school problems). The candidate must be trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and one other therapeutic modality minimum, from person-centred therapy, play therapy, family therapy, or as appropriate for work with children. Provide screening of clients to ascertain the suitability of the service and ability to offer appropriate therapy privately. Onward refer clients to the appropriate Psychological Therapy Modality within or to outside agencies as appropriate. Manage an allocated clinical caseload in collaboration with your Line Manager and practice assistant. Deliver evidence-based treatments for clients with mild to severe mental health problems. Manage transitions with local authority services for more complex clients. A willingness and ability to support parents and include parents in your treatment protocols is essential. Conduct problem-focused assessment and work-focused assessment of clients. Provide 1.5-hour monthly supervision to therapists in training and have prior experience in offering supervision to therapists. Run clinical group supervision and attend practice meetings being prepared to discuss your practice and client work. Involvement in safeguarding processes and ongoing development regarding changing child and young person’s legislation and ethical practice. Proactively build on relationships with community services including schools, social services, charities increasing visibility of our services and partnership options. Provide training to therapists where appropriate need has been recognised and develop training workshops alongside practice assistant for clients and parents. Commitment to team working ethos and willingness to engage with the team of psychotherapists/psychologists. Maintaining Standards of Practice: Conduct Mental Health Assessments and Risk Assessments for users and formulate and implement Risk Management plans. Provide information and education to clients about choice and access of psychological therapies available within the service, to enable them to make informed decisions as to the most appropriate services to be accessed. Implement a Stepped Care approach to clinical practice and provide both High Intensity clinical interventions as well as work-focused interventions, as required. Electronically record data regarding individual client contact activity, Diary Events and Service Activity using the internal system. Maintain up-to-date accurate electronic clinical records relating to individual clients, in accordance with GDPR/ICO regulations. Proactively develop robust professional relationships with staff supporting the active integration of CBT provision into a shared thinking platform. Develop and maintain good professional relationships with mental health workers in the current setting and externally. Exercise personal responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of professional practice in your own practice. Be aware of and comply with the policies, procedures, and standards of service. Personal Practice and Development: Attend Case/line Management Supervision with your Line Manager (1.5 hours monthly). Arrange individual and/or group Clinical Supervision from an appropriate psychotherapist/psychologist (Therapist provides this externally if required). Be committed to developing and maintaining your own CPD in relation to ethical requirements. Fulfil the HCPC/BACPC/BACP code of conduct and follow ethical guidelines in your professional work. Clinical Governance:
The post holder will be expected to: Maintain and develop clinical knowledge and clinical expertise. Actively participate in regular clinical and managerial supervision. Maintain accurate electronic records of clinical work so as to allow the effective monitoring, review, audit, and evaluation of the service provided. Collate and electronically record assessment and outcome measures and patient satisfaction data for service audit and national benchmarking.
