We are currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join Harrogate Neighbours, an award-winning organisation not for profit charitable organisation.

Office Based at The Cuttings, Starbeck, Harrogate Part-time – approx. 24 hours per week Hours can either be over 3 days (8am-4pm) or 4 days (9/10am-3pm/4pm) Circa £15.00 per hour (approx. £30,000 full-time equivalent) Free on-site parking Handy transport links (5 mins Starbeck station) Harrogate Neighbours provide a great benefits package which includes:

THE FINANCE ASSISTANT ROLE: Working alongside the Finance Officer, Head of Finance, and other Finance Assistants, you will provide accounts support primarily in the areas of Sales Ledger and Payroll.

Assist with the preparation and producing of sales invoices for Care Services on a 4-weekly cycle. Completion of Local Authority returns for funded clients and updating contracts on a 4-weekly basis. Carry out credit control in an appropriate manner by telephone, adapting communication for different audiences. Preparation of Payroll, dealing with Starters and Leavers. Monitoring and recording annual leave and sickness etc. Entering timesheet information onto the payroll system. Liaise with staff on payroll related queries. Check and monitor petty cash and entering transactions onto Sage and reconcile. Banking of all cheques and cash and recording of receipts onto Sage. Reconciling payments to the correct account. Answering telephone enquiries and / or forwarding on to the relevant member of staff. Greeting visitors to the Admin Office. Any other tasks as may be necessary to ensure the efficient working of the Finance Team. ABOUT YOU: In addition to a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance assistant or accounts assistant role, you must have a caring nature and be able to converse clearly and patiently with the elderly, building relationships to understand their situation.

Essential Skills

2 years’ experience of Sales Ledger or Payroll Good knowledge of accounting procedures Experience of using accounting software Patient communicator at all levels Attention to detail A team player Comfortable working to deadlines Willingness to learn and adapt Aligned with Harrogate Neighbours Visions and Values Desirable Skills:

Experience in all areas of Sales Ledger, Credit Control and Payroll Experience of using Sage 50 AAT Level 2 qualified Please note that successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
