Countryside Manager National Trust, Isle of Wight Salary: £36,621-£38,961 (depending on experience) We're excited to offer a unique opportunity on the Isle of Wight for a Countryside Manager to lead our dedicated countryside team and play a vital role in our vision for tackling the nature and climate crisis. We have a plan in place to continue delivering significant landscape conservation across almost 6,000 acres of National Trust land, including a National Nature Reserve at Newtown and the iconic Needles headland. Together with our tenants, graziers, and partner organisations like National Landscapes and the Wildlife Trust, we're shaping farm businesses that put nature at their core. What it's like to work here As Countryside Manager, you'll lead a passionate and experienced team of world-class rangers, with support from a diverse network of specialists including an Ecologist, Farming Advisor, Nature Conservation Advisor, Senior Estate Manager and General Manager. Collaborating with the Property Leadership team, you'll help to shape the Isle of Wight for future generations across internationally significant landscapes. What you will be doing In this strategic role, you'll lead your team to protect and enhance our landscapes while balancing increased demand for public access. Your team will spearhead access management, conservation projects, and outdoor engagement, all while helping shape the future of outdoor spaces. Collaboration will be key to achieving impactful change. Who we are looking for We'd love to hear from you if you have: Experience leading a skilled team. Strong communication skills, including public speaking. A background in community and partnership management. Proven leadership in delivering change. Expertise in nature conservation and countryside management. Confidence managing budgets, projects, and environmental land management schemes.
