Consultant Microbiologist (Perm or Locum FTC)
Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust based in the South East to help recruit a Consultant Microbiologist for a substantive or a Locum Fixed Term Contract.
The NHS organisation is an integrated Trust providing community, acute and specialist care across a number of sites. With over 5,000 staff, they are the regional centre for a number of services. The trust is based in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is one of the top rural areas to live in with a number of transport links.
They are now looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Microbiologist to join the well-established department. There is an opportunity to support Mohs micrographic for those who are interested.
Summary Details
12 Month NHS Fixed Term Locum Consultant (Salaried)/or Substantive Consultant Excellent Training & Educational opportunities Excellent support & teaching network
Brief Duties: Providing a comprehensive clinical medical microbiology service including advising on specimens and analysis Validation and interpretation of results for the department and wards Involvement in the management of individual patients through full clinical liaison and ward visits Participation in medical audit and quality assurance and control within the laboratory and clinically Business planning, including the assessment and introduction of new methods, and forward planning for staff and equipment requirements Contributing to postgraduate and continuing medical education Participation in a recognised scheme of Continuing Professional Development. Funding and study leave is available for agreed purposes. Participation in clinical governance and other quality activities as relevant. Be an integral member of IPCT, advising and supporting the ICNs as agreed with the DIPC Attend hospital infection control committee Assist in preparing the annual infection prevention and control work programme.
Our client is happy to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors; however, GMC registration is essential for this position.
