We are seeking experienced Project Directors with experience of energy, ICP, Renewable Energy, DNO, IDNO, Generation, BESS projects to join our projects based in Scotland. Duties and Responsibilities This role requires strategic oversight, robust management skills, and the ability to deliver multiple complex projects concurrently. The Project Director will have Project Managers and Agents directly reporting to them. Leadership, Oversight and Accountability: Provide strategic leadership and direction for all assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers and Agents, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships. Health and Safety: Ensure all projects are delivered in full compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Champion a strong safety culture, promoting best practices and a proactive approach to risk management. Conduct regular H&S audits, reviews, and site visits to monitor compliance and drive continuous improvement. Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Operational Performance: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Implement robust project governance processes, monitoring progress, and addressing challenges proactively. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and operational efficiency. Commercial and Financial Performance: Take accountability for the commercial success of all assigned projects, ensuring profitability and cost control. Work closely with the commercial team to manage contracts, variations, and claims, ensuring favourable outcomes. Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, identifying and mitigating risks to profitability. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial and commercial performance to senior leadership. Project Delivery Excellence: Drive a commitment to quality and excellence in project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business. Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies for all projects, addressing potential issues before they escalate. Lead project reviews, ensuring lessons learned are captured and improvements implemented across future projects. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and industry forums, promoting its reputation and capabilities. Act as an escalation point for resolving conflicts or disputes during the project lifecycle. Team Development and Resource Management: Ensure project teams are adequately resourced, providing the tools, support, and training required for success. Identify, recruit and nurture talent within the team, supporting career development and succession planning. Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and improvement. Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Professional accreditation (e.g., MCIOB, RICS, CEng) is highly desirable. Extensive experience in project management or directorship within the construction or rail industries, overseeing multiple large-scale projects. Previous experience in the delivery of Energy infrastructure/ ICP/BESS schemes. Proven track record of delivering projects with strong operational, commercial, and financial outcomes. Demonstrated expertise in health and safety management and compliance. Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities. Strong commercial acumen, with experience in contract management and financial oversight. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and a focus on delivering results. Strategic Leadership: Ability to align project delivery with organisational goals and drive team performance. Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety. Operational Excellence: Skilled in optimising resources, managing risks, and delivering successful projects. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of project economics, with a focus on profitability and cost control. Client-Centric Approach: Dedicated to building and maintaining strong client relationships.
