Band 7 Specialist Nurse/SALT/OT/ASW Psychological Practitioner

We are looking for a Specialist Nurse/SALT/OT/ASW Psychological Practitioner to join the well-established Autism Assessment Team in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The role primarily involves working with children and young people and their families and carers. This is a great opportunity to join our highly skilled, dedicated, and friendly team.

About Us This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently partway through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, which will include mandatory training, systems training, and the allocation of equipment. New starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registration & Membership body (NMC, HCPS, etc.)

Desirable Postgraduate qualification

Experience Essential Substantial experience of working with CYP with complex mental health needs. Minimum 4 years post-registration experience in acute and/or community setting. Minimum of 2 years experience of working with children and young people who have complex health care needs and disabilities. Experience of multi-agency/disciplinary working. Evidence of innovative and evidence-based practice.

Desirable CAMHS/CYPMHS Experience

Skills Essential Basic awareness of IT and IT skills. Proven ability to prioritise and manage a caseload (self & others) without supervision. Demonstrates the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. The ability to provide effective clinical teaching/training to carers and staff who are not medically trained. Ability to respond appropriately to children and young people in need and/or children at risk in accordance with local and national safeguarding guidance.

Desirable Others

Knowledge Essential An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF, and clinical governance priorities. Possess in-depth understanding of clinical, social, and family situations. Able to work and assess holistically the child and family. In-depth knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adult procedures. Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

Desirable To be able to travel efficiently throughout the area. Able to work efficiently in an unpredictable working environment. Proven experience of promoting people's equality, diversity, and rights. Motivation and enthusiasm to undertake further education and training.
