Marshall Fleet Solutions (MFS) are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Engineer for their Tamworth depot. Purpose of the position

The Marshall Fleet Solutions offering is a truly one-stop shop to manage all fleet related items. We work with our customers to ensure they operate a fully managed and legally compliant fleet of commercial vehicles & trailers; this opportunity is to work from our flagship depot based in Tamworth to maintain a large customer fleet of trailers. Overview of the role is to carry out service, maintenance, MOT preparation and presentation to authorized testing facility (ATF) in the local area, fault diagnosis and repairs to a fleet of circa 100+ trailers. Reporting directly into the operational controllers on site. Training will be provided to ensure safety, safe working, compliance, business operations, maintenance of equipment i.e., BPW, as required. Accountability

Responsibilities:

Comply with all H&S, risk assessments and safe systems of work. Fully conversant with the following Government documents:

Heavy goods vehicle (HGV) inspection manual Guide to maintaining roadworthiness.

Communicate with our customers and meet their various requests. Advise customers on product or service issues with their fleet i.e., problem-solving. Put customer satisfaction at the very top of your priority list. Process customer transactions and keep records of activity. Handle maintenance issues within the pre-agreed service plan. Meet operational customer expectations for telephone and email communication. Build trusted relationships with all customers. Manage efficient document flow of all customer interactions. Contribute to improving guidelines and processes for the department. Ensuring parts are readily available and replenished as necessary. Work with the immediate and wider teams within the business. Tasks:

Diagnosing and rectifying all types of trailer faults. Liaising with the parts department/suppliers to attain correct parts. Ensuring health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness. Ensuring all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner, including paper and electronic. Maintaining a thorough and current product knowledge; training will be given. Excellent verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues. Capability

Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements. Must be technically competent and operationally aware of the safety standards that apply to the vehicles they examine, techniques of vehicle examination, diagnosis, and reporting. Education and experience

Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles/trailers. C+E license required for attending MOT tests at off-site ATF’s.
