As a D2C Web Developer at Inspired Pet Nutrition, your primary focus will be the technical development and support of our e-commerce websites, including those built on Shopify and bespoke platforms. You will also manage and update some of our non-e-commerce websites, such as brochure and corporate sites built on platforms like Craft CMS and Webflow, with the potential to work on other platforms as needed. In addition, you will contribute to maintaining and enhancing our bespoke backend integrations, built with a custom stack consisting of TypeScript/JavaScript on Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud infrastructure. This role blends technical expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration to deliver seamless operations, continuous improvement, and exceptional user experiences across all digital platforms. Full-stack Website Development and Maintenance

Design and implement new features and functionality across our portfolio of websites, leveraging APIs, third-party apps, custom code, and cloud-based solutions as required. Develop and maintain e-commerce websites, including those built on Shopify, as well as non-e-commerce sites, such as brochure and corporate websites built on platforms like Craft CMS, Webflow, or others as required. Contribute to the development and maintenance of our bespoke backend systems, leveraging technologies like TypeScript/JavaScript on Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Google Cloud infrastructure. Configure and manage integrations with key systems, such as subscription management systems, sales and inventory management platforms, chat bot and support systems, and Google Cloud services like Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Queues, and Tasks. Monitor, test, and troubleshoot websites and associated systems to ensure optimal performance, usability, and security. Continuous Improvement

Focus on enhancing user experience, functionality, and operational efficiency for e-commerce websites as the primary priority. Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation across all platforms, including backend systems and cloud-based infrastructure. Stay updated on emerging web and cloud technologies, applying best practices to all aspects of development. Content and Site Management

Update and manage website content, including product catalogues, promotional banners, corporate news, and customer notices. Perform administrative tasks such as exporting, manipulating, and importing data to handle bulk updates to subscriptions, products, or other site elements efficiently. Manage and set up campaigns, sales, and promotions, including tasks such as tweaking prices, creating campaign landing pages, and configuring popups. Set up marketing automations, including creating email templates and building email flows in Klaviyo to support customer engagement and retention strategies. Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure content and updates align with campaigns and business needs. Collaboration and Support

Work closely with customer service and operations teams to support order or subscription changes and resolve technical issues efficiently. Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure our sites meet branding and communication goals. Collaborate with the D2C Marketing Director and other digital team members to help export and analyse performance data and provide actionable insights for both e-commerce and non-e-commerce platforms. Location

Remote, with a requirement to attend monthly meetings in Thirsk, Yorkshire and ad-hoc travel as required. Minimum Requirements

Full-stack Web Development: Experience in front-end and back-end development, ideally within FMCG, direct-to-consumer, or retail sectors. E-commerce Systems: Experience configuring and integrating e-commerce platforms and tools, with an understanding of end-to-end processes. Platform Expertise: Familiarity with the Shopify app ecosystem is advantageous, including apps such as Recharge, Klaviyo, LoyaltyLion, Rebuy, and Boost AI Search, alongside any familiarity with Craft CMS, Webflow, and developing or working with bespoke integrations. Backend Development: Experience developing with TypeScript/JavaScript on Node.js and using relational databases such as PostgreSQL would be beneficial. Frontend Development: Experience developing with modern front-end stacks including React/Vue/Svelte, Vite/Webpack and Tailwind would be beneficial. Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with Google Cloud services such as Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, Queues/Tasks is a strong advantage. Subscription Models: Experience working with or managing Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) websites and subscription-based e-commerce models is desirable. API Integration: Proven experience integrating third-party APIs and developing custom web functionality. User Experience: A solid understanding of UX principles and strategies to enhance usability across different types of sites. Agility: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Company Overview
