The role
In this key role for the business, you will act as a business partner by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial and non-financial information to provide reporting and insight that drives performance improvement and delivery against desired business outcomes.
The day to day
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, a Finance business partner to the CFO and the Technology & Product teams and the Sales & Operations teams, driving improvements in productivity, experience, and profitability:
Drive performance through the budgeting and forecasting of costs, key metrics and drivers, and translation into related financial costs and KPIs.
Work with these teams to set their respective financial and KPI targets, reporting and sharing actual performance, providing insight into variances and highlighting future implications.
Work closely with your partner teams to provide support on key projects and strategic pillars initiatives with a view to enhancing productivity and margins.
Attendance at cost centre review meetings, reviewing cost base (FTE and costs) and metrics on a monthly basis and discussing any variances to determine the impact on the future P&L, and support on follow-up actions.
Attendance at relevant business team meetings, sharing insight into performance and being the wider finance representative.
Act as financial advisor to these teams, and to be integral to commercial decision-making and driving improved performance.
Provide financial support and analysis in relation to commercial contract negotiations and partnerships with key vendors.
Work with the Data & Insight and Financial Reporting teams to automate reporting & develop KPIs, providing analysis and insight, linking financial reports to business strategy.
About you
Degree, professionally qualified, working towards a relevant professional qualification or qualified by experience.
Competent ability in building financial models, forecasting and reporting based on historical financial data.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work as a member of a team and influence multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrable experience interpreting and challenging financial data.
Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, utilised across group reporting.
Good knowledge of specific processes and business areas and the ability to apply this to implementing changes that add value to the business.
Highly motivated with strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
Ability to think creatively, where there is not an obvious or right answer and be comfortable with ambiguity.
Strong desire and ability to collaborate within own and other functions as a Business Partner to achieve desired outcomes.
Good industry knowledge and commercial awareness.
