Overview of the role Responsible for providing complex planning advice, determining applications, and developing planning policies and guidance. Leads professional teams to deliver high-quality, client-focused planning services. Responsibilities and Duties Deliver complex town planning services, including development management, policy preparation, and regeneration projects, ensuring adherence to performance standards and delivery plans. Provide expert, high-impact advice and decisions with significant effects on local development, the environment, economy, and council priorities such as affordable housing. Lead professional teams, manage projects effectively, and foster collaboration across staff, colleagues, and partner organizations. Offer clear, accurate advice on statutory planning processes, monitor policy impacts, and mitigate legal, financial, and reputational risks to the council. Drive service excellence, maintain good governance, ensure compliance with legislative changes, and promote continuous improvement and equal opportunities.
