We are looking for a motivated Band 6 to join the ED team. Are you an adult Registered Nurse, with significant ED experience? Do you like a challenge where no 2 days are the same? Are you an experienced nurse with emergency department experience? Access to education via NTU modules is supported, and we offer many opportunities for self-development and progression within the role. We are looking for someone who wants to learn and inspire others. Please note this role is full internal rotation made up of long shifts 7-1930 or 1900-0730 covering 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. Main Duties of the Job

Act as a support to the Band 7 Team and ensure that the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained at a high standard. Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care is offered to patients and, in collaboration with the ED charge nurse team, identify the common issues which affect the quality of care, devising clear action plans to address any shortcomings ensuring agreed action is taken. Improve and maintain standards of essential nursing care by working with the ED Charge Nurse team and using tools such as clinical benchmarking. Person Specification

Current level one nursing registration Diploma or degree in nursing Hospital Life support Qualified and experienced mentor meeting NMC mentor standards Teaching or assessing qualification or equivalent experience Completion of all the NUH ED scopes of professional practice or equivalent local competency package ALS Experience

Substantial experience as Band 5 Nurse during which effective leadership skills have been demonstrated Experience in Emergency Department or relevant Critical Care area Supervision of non-registered staff, pre-registration, and post-basic students Proved ability to manage the clinical area or ward efficiently and effectively Ability to convey sensitive information in an empathic manner to patients, relatives/carers, students/learners, and staff Ability to assist with staff development and administration including sickness management, appraisals, and training needs analysis Experience of dashboarding and collation of Nursing and Midwifery data Involvement with change management Providing staff with feedback on their individual performance Communication and Relationship Skills

Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills Produce timely, accurate written/electronic records and documents Recognition of own level of competence and limitations and ability to communicate these to appropriate staff Ability to constructively challenge others and formulate resolutions in conflict situations Demonstration of team working and ability to work within a team Ability to minimise interpersonal conflict and barriers to communication Demonstrate evidence of formal or informal teaching sessions relating to practice Analytical and Judgement Skills
