As a Care Assistant at Howard Court Care Home, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Your role is crucial in promoting independence, dignity, and a positive quality of life for every resident in our care. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care: Assist residents with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support residents with mobility and physical activities, including using equipment such as hoists. Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the Care Manager or senior team members. Administer medications (if trained and authorized) following care home procedures. Daily Living Support: Assist residents during meal times, ensuring nutritional needs are met. Provide support with daily routines, including housekeeping tasks where needed. Emotional and Social Support: Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues. Encourage residents to engage in recreational activities and social events to enhance their well-being. Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and infection control measures. Ensure all care practices comply with relevant regulations and standards. Qualifications & Skills: Experience in a care role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanour. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well as part of a team. Willingness to undertake further training and development. A basic understanding of IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes is beneficial. Requirements: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
