Senior Pharmacy Technician The Southend Hospital 12 Hours & Permanent Salary: Up to £27,100.00 FTE per year The Southend Hospital has recently been awarded OUTSTANDING by the CQC. We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy Department. This is a part-time role for 12 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Must be registered on the General Pharmaceutical Council register as a pharmacy technician. Knowledge of General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics and Performance and their implications for practice. Attainment of relevant specialist qualification / knowledge. Maths and English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems. Duties of this role include: To support the delivery of an excellent clinical, operational and governance based medicine management service. Support the team to deliver care that helps improve the health of the individual and wider community. Support the team in demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity. Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise. Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient. Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients, demonstrating courage to speak up when there are concerns about care. Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience. Provide and co-ordinate technical pharmacy services for a specialist area (extended role). Procure & receipt medicines for the hospital. Top up and distribute medicines to all areas of the hospital in conjunction with the pharmacy team. Stock management of medicines within the hospital. Provide a dispensing service for medicines that may be required.
