Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Eames Consulting are working with one of the UK's leading travel and transport companies, driving innovation at the intersection of technology, travel, and customer experience. As they embark on a large-scale transformation programme, we are looking for a dynamic, results-driven Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to spearhead the cyber security strategy, ensuring the protection and scaling of their systems amidst a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Role Overview:

As CISO, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the organisation's information security strategy, with a particular focus on securing large-scale transformation efforts and protecting the integrity of our cyber security frameworks. You will be pivotal in safeguarding critical assets, while driving forward the development and scalability of cutting-edge AI technologies.

You will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and will collaborate with senior leadership across IT, operations, and transformation teams to embed a robust security culture across the business. The role demands a visionary leader with deep expertise in cyber security, risk management, and AI integration.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and execution of an organisation-wide cyber security strategy, aligning with the goals of the transformation programme and AI initiatives. Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of cyber security policies, controls, and standards. Drive security risk assessments and ensure the protection of sensitive data and critical infrastructure. Protect and scale the AI-driven systems to ensure both security and performance are optimised as the company expands its capabilities. Collaborate with the technology team to integrate secure AI frameworks and safeguard new technologies from emerging threats. Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, providing expert insights on security risks, trends, and mitigation strategies. Lead a high-performing security team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and vigilance in cyber security practices. Develop and manage the budget for cyber security and AI security initiatives, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or compliance. Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal standards, staying abreast of relevant UK and global data protection laws. Requirements:

Proven experience (10+ years) in senior information security leadership roles, ideally within a large, complex organisation. Expertise in leading large-scale transformation programmes, particularly around technology and AI security. Strong understanding of cyber security principles, threat landscape, and risk management. Proven ability to scale AI technologies securely and embed security into the development lifecycle. Exceptional knowledge of UK and international data protection regulations (GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, etc.). Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across all levels of the business. A relevant industry-recognised certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) is highly desirable. Eames Consulting is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
