NET Recruit is supporting a manufacturing business who are seeking a Data Scientist to join their team in the Portsmouth area.

Your Role:

While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to: Designing and building forecasting models to include elements such as machine learning and time series Deploying "what-if" based scenarios for the capacity planning and demand variability Identifying and integrating new data sources including inventory, sales and external market data for the improvement of the accuracy of the model Utilising and collaborating with internal data resources for data transfers and pipeline integrations Choosing appropriate models that reflect business needs and data characteristics Evaluating models by using validation techniques such as training or testing splits and metrics Deploying models into production, ensuring scalability and performance, and monitoring these and retraining them as needed to ensure they remain accurate over time

You MUST Have:

Please apply ONLY if you meet the following criteria: Strong exposure and proficiency with both Python and SQL for data analysis and machine learning purposes Good experience with AWS SageMaker or any other equivalent machine learning platforms Demonstrable experience working in agile, fast paced environments Exposure to manufacturing and stock and demand forecasting Knowledge of scenario-based modelling Good communication skills

Your Opportunity:

Providing services and products across the aviation, energy, medical and space markets, amongst many others, this business offers a wide range of technologies for interconnection applications. The position holder will be focused on stock and demand forecasting and will suggest approaches to enhance forecasting models.

On offer is a starting salary of around £55,000 which will also accompany a peripheral package that will include an above average holiday allocation and pension, life cover, bonus and employee assistance programme. There will be excellent routes for progression and development within this role, alongside opportunities to expand your already existing knowledge pool.
