With a strong commitment to access to justice, we advocate for vulnerable individuals and communities. We are recruiting an experienced Solicitor to join our dynamic legal aid firm. With a modern approach, the firm are legal experts within their areas of law and we pride ourselves on high levels of client care, providing an outstanding service at all times. We require a self-motivated individual with excellent communication and written skills. You will be highly organised, able to manage a varied workload and work well under pressure. Patience and tact are necessary as you will be assisting vulnerable people whose welfare is our priority. Sound knowledge of legal aid funding is required. Key Responsibilities: Advice, Casework & Representation / Core Activities Case Management: Handle a varied caseload within one or more of our specialist areas (housing, immigration, community care, public law, education). Legal Advice: Provide clear and practical advice and draft legal documents. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring their needs and interests are at the forefront of all actions. Collaboration: Work closely with other solicitors, paralegals, and caseworkers across offices, sharing expertise and supporting a cohesive team culture. Professional Development: Stay updated on relevant legislative changes and case law developments. Person Specification Essential: Qualified solicitor with current practising certificate in England and Wales. Demonstrable experience in one or more of our specialist areas (housing, community care, immigration, public law, education). In-depth knowledge of the legal aid framework and compliance requirements. Strong advocacy and negotiation skills. Excellent time management and organisational abilities. Commitment to access to justice and a client-centred approach. Desirable: LAA Supervisor Status Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
