We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and manage our SEND provision, ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive the support they need to achieve their potential. The Role: As the SENCO at our school, you will lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs, including those with SEMH and other related needs. You will be responsible for coordinating the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEN, ensuring that they receive a personalized education that meets their individual needs. You will work closely with teaching staff, support staff, and external agencies to create an inclusive learning environment and ensure that all students have equal opportunities to succeed. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced SENCO who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of students with SEMH and a range of other needs. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the SEND provision across the school, ensuring that students with SEMH and other special educational needs receive the support they need to achieve their potential. Work closely with teaching staff to ensure that differentiated teaching strategies are in place to meet the needs of all students with SEND. Coordinate the identification, assessment, and support for students with SEN, ensuring that accurate records are maintained and regular reviews are conducted. Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and strategies to support students academic and personal development. Lead and mentor a team of teaching assistants and support staff, ensuring that they are trained and equipped to meet the needs of students with SEND. Liaise with external agencies, such as educational psychologists, social workers, and therapists, to ensure that students receive appropriate support and interventions. Advise and support staff on best practices for supporting students with SEMH and other learning needs. Monitor and track the progress of students with SEND, providing regular feedback to parents and carers. Ensure that the school is compliant with all relevant SEN legislation, policies, and guidelines. Contribute to the development of school-wide strategies for improving outcomes for all students, including those with SEND. Support the Senior Leadership Team in developing the school s vision for SEND provision and ensuring it is fully embedded across all aspects of school life. About You: Qualified teacher status (QTS) and experience of teaching in a secondary school setting, ideally with students who have SEMH or related needs. A proven track record of working as a SENCO, with experience of managing SEND provision and leading a team. In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant SEN legislation. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and support colleagues. Experience of working with external agencies to support students with SEND. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and external professionals. A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with SEMH and other special educational needs. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND. Why Join Us?
