The Advanced Production Systems team based in Coventry is looking for a process specialist to join them. The activities that will be carried out will include, but are not limited to: The development of engineering processes that will enable the MTC to demonstrate compliance with customer requirements that go beyond ISO 9001. Support to the acquisition of an Environment Agency permit. Support to ensure that all necessary legislation has been reviewed and addressed. Support to the various engineering and inspection processes that are to be developed. Main Responsibilities: You will be responsible for the technical leadership and delivery of large or complex projects, ensuring the delivery of technical excellence within project scope, timescales, and budget. You will be expected to work across MTC to maximise your technical impact by implementing successes demonstrated elsewhere within the organisation and, where appropriate, share lessons learnt. You will be required to drive continuous improvement in technical aspects of the MTC’s project delivery capability including behaviours, processes, structures, and tools. You will be responsible for representing the MTC’s interests at all internal and external meetings, as required. You will be responsible for your own and your colleagues’ health and safety, pro-actively reporting any concerns, near-misses, or accidents. You will be expected to provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues as required, to support the development of technical and leadership capability across the business. You will be required to work with MTC’s Marketing Department to produce case studies and other media that demonstrate the impact that MTC is having, whilst always respecting client confidentiality. Person Specification Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience Degree calibre engineer (or equivalent qualification), in a relevant Engineering based discipline. Demonstrable substantial and recognised expertise in a specific area relevant to the theme. Expert knowledge of the manufacturing sector and deep understanding of manufacturing systems, technologies, and delivery methods to solve challenges. Have a sound background in engineering, preferably with experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment. Can demonstrate experience of appropriate engineering Validation and Substantiation of designs, and use of Engineering controls appropriate to the project to deliver to customer requirements. Strong understanding of the challenges of designing equipment and/or products in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrable experience of identifying team and group level risks and identifying strategies to resolve them. An ability to persuade and influence both customers and colleagues of the need to adapt their approach and accept new concepts or processes. Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience Expertise recognised both internally and externally within your field, preferably as a chartered engineer or scientist of an appropriate institution.
