Senior SCADA Engineer North England – Remote (during probation 2 days in office a week) Experience Dependent Our client is one of the globe's most recognized in Engineering and is seeking an experienced SCADA engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will have experience across power distribution and in particular working with the National Grid. Key Responsibilities – SCADA Engineer As our Senior Controls Engineer, you will be the technical lead on the projects. Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects. Production/checking of Design documentation like I/O Schedules, Functional Design Specifications and Design Intent Documents. Development and configuration of engineering control solutions. Production/checking of test documentation. Carry out FAT activities. Provide SAT support including RAMS. Responsible for technical issues/support on allocated projects. Ensuring that Siemens solutions meet the requirements of the latest policies and standards. Attend internal and external design reviews providing technical mentorship. Provide technical feedback for tendering activities. Mentoring of apprentices/graduates within the business. Implement all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies. Qualifications & Experience – SCADA Engineer Experience of UK-National Grid delivery and specifications/standards are important. A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry. While this role has no requirement for line management, it would be encouraged to provide mentoring of other team members. Experience in a similar role involving configuration and testing of medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems, and communication infrastructure. SICAM PAS, SICAM SCC/WinCC, SIPROTEC 4/5, SICAM 1703, Toolbox II, SICAM Device Manager. Experience of Serial and Ethernet based communication protocols and topologies (IEC60870-5-101/103/104, IEC61850). Understanding of Cyber Security requirements in control and automation systems (IEC62443, IEC62351). Configuration and testing of networks (RSTP, PRP, SDN) utilizing software tools for analyses and fault finding. Benefits – SCADA Engineer Bonus: 10% (based on business performance).
