Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Upstream business within our Operations team focusing on providing structural engineering support to the Client contract and execute work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards. This position will be hired on a limited contractor basis for a period of 12 months, outside IR35. This position is based in our Head Office in Aberdeen with Hybrid working. The Role These positions will work in our Aberdeen Engineering hub where we are in significant growth mode. We have multidiscipline work across a variety of clients with scopes ranging from Repair orders, minor modifications to larger project work. Live and Forecast work covers all phases of project life cycle from front end concept studies, through Pre-FEED, FEED, EPCC and Decommissioning. We are leading the way with ongoing studies looking to electrify existing assets and have a growing portfolio of decarbonisation projects including flare gas recovery systems. We are looking for Structural Engineers to join our exceptional team and use your technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables. We design, engineer, build, operate and maintain the most complex assets in the world, in the harshest of environments, providing solutions across the asset life cycle from concept to decommissioning. At all levels our goal is the same: to provide our clients with complete assurance that their asset is in safe hands.

Senior Engineer: Provide structural engineering support to the Client contract as required Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client and project standards Originate and check structural engineering deliverables as required on Client Contract within budget and schedule Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology Manage discipline CTR’s, provide input to estimates, proposals, plans and progress Develop calculation packages as required Present and describe engineering solutions and concepts competently to both technical and non-technical audiences Support quality & technical assurance activities as required Principal Engineer: Supervise and support technical specialists or engineers responsible for complex technical tasks Provide technical guidance Provide technical direction to project team members Advise on the development of new engineering methods and participate in short and long-range planning Provide awareness of technical advancements and new ways to serve customer needs Roles as above

Expected: Degree in engineering discipline; alternatively, tertiary level education combined with suitable industry experience can be used to demonstrate equivalence Professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general engineering Ability to discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues uncovered during the course of performing assignments Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution Desirable: Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
