Senior IT Engineer

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various operating systems and networking technologies, with a strong focus on delivering robust IT solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. The Senior IT Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure while ensuring optimal performance and security. Duties Design, implement, and manage IT infrastructure solutions, ensuring high availability and reliability. Provide expert support for openSUSE, CentOS, and other operating systems, troubleshooting issues as they arise. Manage network configurations and support using Cisco technologies, ensuring seamless connectivity. Develop and maintain secure network protocols, including HTTPS and LDAP, to protect sensitive data. Utilise AWS for cloud-based solutions, including deployment and management of applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to anticipate future IT needs and develop strategic plans. Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency in system management. Conduct regular system audits and performance evaluations to identify areas for improvement. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Qualifications Proven experience as an IT Engineer or similar role with a strong background in computer networking. In-depth knowledge of openSUSE, CentOS, Cisco technologies, AWS, LDAP, HTTPS protocols, and network support. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation tasks. Strong analytical skills with the ability to anticipate potential issues before they arise. Excellent problem-solving abilities combined with effective communication skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are advantageous but not mandatory. A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
