Job Specification – Assistant Production Manager Job Description:

The Assistant Production Manager in the live events sector becomes a valued member of the production team by assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of live events. This role involves logistical support, communication with vendors, technical setup assistance, and overall event management to ensure the smooth running of live events. Roles and Responsibilities: Technical Management:

Overseeing maintenance of technical equipment. Assisting with the installation of temporary or permanent technical equipment. Ensuring that equipment meets relevant health & safety standards. Event Preparation:

Assist in the advancing of shows, ensuring that all aspects of riders can be met. Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services. Help prepare and maintain production materials such as schedules, timelines, and event documents. Assist with venue logistics, including room layouts, seating arrangements, and setup. Produce prep lists for the production team to ensure all necessary equipment and cabling is ready for show set-up. Training production staff on key areas of set-up and breakdown of shows. Event Execution:

Provide logistical support during event setup, including assisting with the construction of staging, audio systems, lighting, and other technical requirements. Ensure that all equipment and materials are set up correctly and on time. Coordinate with the technical team to ensure smooth audio-visual setups and troubleshoot any technical issues. Support the production team in managing on-the-day event operations, ensuring everything runs smoothly according to plan. Coordinate with venue staff, technical teams, and performers to address any issues or last-minute changes. Manage event signage and other visual elements if a Stage Manager isn’t present on the show. Co-ordination & Communication:

Provide administrative support to the senior production team, including taking notes at meetings and following up on action points. Act as a liaison between the production team, artists, contractors, and event staff. Ensure that all team members are informed of event details, schedules, and changes. Post-Event Support:

Help with post-event breakdown and the storage of equipment and materials. Ensure all rented equipment is returned and all invoicing is sent to the relevant teams. Assist in the evaluation of the event, including reviewing timelines and preparing feedback reports. Skills and Requirements: Essential Experience:

2 years minimum professional experience working within a production environment, working with aspects of lighting, sound, video or as multi-role personnel is preferred; however, candidates with less experience may still be selected. Experience problem solving within the confines of live production. Desired Experience:

Knowledge or previous use of lighting/sound consoles. Knowledge of touring practices in live production. Knowledge of electrical equipment used in production and how to deal with them safely – training can be provided if necessary. Knowledge of Health and Safety guidelines relevant to this field. First aid training – can be provided if necessary. Valid driving license preferable but not a necessity as most production is done in-house. Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate, with the ability to use common office software. Strong interpersonal skills, working as part or in charge of a team. Working to budgets. Excellent time management skills. Ability to make correct decisions under pressure. Ability to be creative and resourceful in problem solving. To be able to work under own initiative. Personal Attributes:

Enthusiastic and willing to learn. Proactive and self-motivated. A team player with a collaborative approach to working. Flexible and adaptable to last-minute changes. Ability to remain calm and composed during stressful or high-pressure situations. Working Conditions:

This role will require long hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the event schedule. Physical Work:

The role will involve lifting, carrying, and setting up event equipment, so physical stamina and strength are necessary. Job Types:
