Engineer / Transportation Officer Street Lighting & Sign Maintenance (Design) Scale 5/6 (£27,711 - £32,654) 37 Hours, Full Time Permanent Stopford House Application Deadline: 11:59pm 21 February 2025 Shortlisting Date: 24 February 2025 Interview Date: 5 March 2025 Interview Type: In Person Your Role We are looking for an Engineer with street lighting design and GIS system experience to join our team! This role involves assisting with data capture, GIS mapping, street lighting designs and highway projects and assisting the team on routine maintenance and planned programme activities. Please note this role requires 5 days a week in the office.

About You We are looking for applicants who are willing to learn new skills and develop their knowledge in this area. If you have any of the following qualities, submit your application today: A general awareness of the Street Lighting design process Knowledge of street lighting and highway scheme delivery Ability to work with Contractors and Utility companies Respond effectively to enquiries and complaints Have a basic understanding of lighting and sign design specification and materials used Ability to work with a GIS system, capture data and produce reports General awareness of CDM Regulations Ability to work in a fast-paced environment System training and support will be provided. About Us Working as part of the Network Asset Maintenance team you will be involved in the following: LED Retro-fit designs and project delivery Street Lighting/Highway improvement schemes including town centre developments Lighting designs for residential and commercial developments Updating asset/inventory information in our management systems Presentation of asset data using GIS mapping Systems and software we are using: Applications: Lighting Reality, AutoCAD Database: Pitney Bowes - Confirm System, Confirm Mobile Mapping Information: QGIS Other: Microsoft Office 365, SAP, Pecos At Stockport Council we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works and spends time in the borough.
