We are looking for a highly dedicated Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to join our Liaison Psychiatry Service at Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford, Surrey.

Our team provides a comprehensive specialist service to patients, clinicians and carers in the general hospital setting.

This is a challenging but rewarding role, offering an exciting opportunity to Nurses, Occupational Therapists or Social Workers who have strong assessment and therapeutic skills. You will need the ability to work autonomously whilst still contributing to the team as a whole. Previous experience of working in Liaison Psychiatry and across ages is desirable, although not essential. We offer excellent staff support through clinical supervision and teamwork.

You will have an excellent and positive approach to work, with an outstanding, demonstrable background of providing high quality care. You will have an insight into liaison psychiatry and the national guidelines impacting these services. You will have experience and willingness to teach and educate others within the team and the wider network as well as a commitment to service development and the best possible outcomes for people in the acute hospital setting.

This position attracts Recruitment and Retention Payments (please see supporting documents).

The team is CORE 24, as such you will be expected to work a shift system across a 24hr period seven days a week, primarily assessing patients who are referred from our inpatient wards or those who present to the Emergency Department.

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire. We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

We actively seek to engage people who use our services and our communities in improving the mental wellbeing of the local population. We work closely with other NHS and voluntary sector organisations who provide services and support people who use services and carers.

Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast. Our historic market towns and bustling districts are enveloped in wonderful countryside, and our excellent road and rail networks bring the rest of the country within easy reach. For international travel, both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are nearby.

Please note that we reserve the right to close posts as soon as sufficient applications are received. Working from home contracts do not attract high cost area payments.

We look forward to receiving your application! Please see the attached job description and person specification for further information on the role.
