to join our Development Infrastructure team. This is a full-time role based in our Cambridge office and can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times. Working as part of a team, you will be developing innovative solutions to today’s global challenges. Delivering sustainable designs that serve the needs of society today and into the future, through the provision of integrated multi-disciplinary consultancy services to our Clients. You will be working on a variety of projects, including residential, energy, and commercial sector development schemes from inception through detailed design and into construction. In particular, we have some fantastic regional, large-scale energy infrastructure projects. What does the role involve:

As part of the Development Infrastructure team, you will act as a Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer to undertake and check the delivery of design solutions and coordinate with other disciplines. Your responsibilities will include: Bid management to clarify the project brief, agree deliverables, key milestones, project methodology. Undertaking detailed design and checking outputs such as calculations, models, drawings, sketches, reports to achieve the optimum solution for the project. Assessing, documenting, and communicating design changes to the Client directly. Occasionally coordinating a design team and planning workload and allocating resources as required. Taking ownership and responsibility for the quality of work produced, ensuring compliance with the Company Integrated Management system and relevant health and safety legislation. Recommending and implementing improvements to technical policy, processes, and design solutions. Mentoring and coaching less experienced team members. Developing meaningful and lasting relationships with clients to ensure repeat business. To be successful in this role you’ll possess:

A desire to work in a team and a great attitude - collaboration will come naturally to you. An academic qualification, such as a master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, ideally accredited by the Engineering Council. A recognised professional qualification or be working towards an application within a defined timescale. Some relevant post-qualification engineering design experience and project delivery in residential, energy, and commercial sectors. Good organisational and project management skills to support multiple live projects. Competence in civil engineering infrastructure modelling software Civil 3D, with recent experience in highway, earthworks, and drainage design. Competence using drainage design tools, such as InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, or Flow. A working knowledge of MS Office 365 tools. Experience of resource or commercial management on multi-disciplinary projects. Strong analytic and problem-solving skills. The ability to organise and prioritise a design team’s workload to meet project timescales. The ability to travel to sites and offices within the UK when required. Experience of development schemes (brownfield and greenfield sites). Experience of statutory or third-party approvals. What’s in it for you?
