Role: Security Systems Design Architect

In this role, you will transform initial security designs from the tender stage into on-site deliverables, ensuring seamless integration for the project delivery team and end clients. You will leverage your expertise in security system solutions to create innovative, compliant, and technically sound designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Solutions Design:

Develop comprehensive security designs based on tender proposals, integrating: Video Surveillance (CCTV) Intercom Systems Access Control Intruder Alarms Perimeter Detection Oversee the development and progression of security design deliverables post-contract award. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes of practice. Produce detailed designs, including bills of materials (BOMs) and labor requirements for installation and commissioning. Prepare technical submittals, RFIs, and variation costings. Facilitate smooth transitions from design to project delivery, supporting operational compliance. Provide guidance to team members on electronic security design matters.

Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and partners to enhance market opportunities. Collaborate with the Bids team and Procurement department to ensure clear communication of design requirements and cost variations. Participate in internal project kick-off meetings to align on design processes.

Client Interaction and Presentations:

Attend client meetings and presentations, addressing technical queries. Lead client workshops to define and implement project requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:

Create and maintain technical and commercial documentation templates to support design activities. Update project financials and BOMs to ensure accuracy for the delivery team.

Team Support:

Mentor and coach colleagues, sharing expertise in security systems design. Assist the Design Development Manager in achieving team objectives and ensuring project success.

Qualifications:

Essential: Minimum five A*-C (4-9) GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English. Valid DBS check. Desirable: Manufacturer accreditations and memberships within the security industry. Experience:

Essential: Proven experience designing security systems solutions. Expertise in electronic security within smart building systems. Familiarity with key manufacturers, including Axis, Avigilon, Milestone, CCure, Gallagher, Genetec, CEM, Honeywell, Zenitel, and Commend. Experience designing and building security solutions for enterprise, data centres, and campus fit-out projects. Desirable: Awareness of audio-visual, ICT infrastructure, IoT, and network architecture. Reporting To:
