We are currently looking for a General Maintenance Operative to join our team at London Gateway. This function will be responsible for maintaining general good order throughout the port, doing remedial or small repairs as needed, and identifying and reporting the need for any larger works on site. We are searching for a proactive worker that enjoys keeping busy and will get involved with any work we assign them. This includes cleaning debris, minor carpentry or construction work, painting and a variety of other responsibilities; no day will be the same! About The Role How will you contribute: Repair small damages on concrete and repairs chips on the workshop floor Replace damaged posts for fencing Do temporary repairs to damaged mesh Undergo condition inspections, and report to civil assets Put up or replace traffic signs Moving of jersey barriers using DPW telehandler, forklift or other appropriate tools Dewatering of pits using DPW pumps Undertake small concrete repairs Replace drainage down pipes General tidiness of the site (i.e. cleaning windows, emptying bins, picking up rubbish, broken bits and pieces that fall off things, picking up fences fallen over) Carry out minor building fabric maintenance work painting, clearing drains, etc as instructed via the Service Desk Assist with minor small works furniture moves Able to assist with various light maintenance work needed such as, touch up painting, and fixing simple repairs like if toilet is needing fixed Able to fix things such as light bulb replacement, light fixtures, outlet etc Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks What will you Bring. Telehandler Excavator Cherry Picker (MEWP)

Proven experience and appropriate licences/certification in this skill is required.
