SQL DBA

This project demands expert MS SQL skills, and we are looking for the right person to join us at this incredibly exciting time as we move to new ways of working, from manual deployments to automation pipelines, from monolithic systems to containerization. Job Responsibilities Provide Specialist level SQL technical knowledge within the Platform team. You will be the SME in your chosen technology field, whilst also appreciating and contributing to the allied technology stack we support. Participate in the day-to-day workload of the team, utilising Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum. Automate the lifecycle management of SQL DBs, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning. Multi-Environment support on MS SQL. Technical SME feeding into an Agile Project delivery artifact such as Scrum meetings, HLDs, LLDs and configuration documentation. Conduct training sessions or workshops to share automation knowledge and best practices with other teams and departments. Develop and maintain standards, technical and user documentation. Experience Required Advanced MS SQL Backup & Recovery, disaster recovery skills including testing recoverability, and recommending improvements for 24/7 system availability. Implement MS SQL High availability & clustering solutions, standby databases (hot/cold) including on-site and cross-site replication. MS SQL DB Performance tuning & bottlenecks identification. MS SQL Monitoring using SolarWinds, Aria for Operations, and home-grown scripts. Manage MS SQL database security, permissions, user access control (groups & roles), authentication, auditing, and vulnerability. MS SQL Migration strategy, data migration, upgrades, release & version management, fixes & patching. Capacity management overall reporting, MS SQL object storage management, system resources.
