Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:
Generate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings Perform a variety of CAE processes in areas such as aerodynamics, thermodynamics & fluid mechanics Support the development & qualification of de-icing systems that incorporate technology such as sensors, controllers, pumps, valves and an array of mechanisms. Contribute to the creation of compliance documents such as test reports, design/analysis reports, safety assessments etc. Provide support for legacy programs to all stakeholders (manufacturing, operators, OEM's) Building prototypes and test rigs (utilising iron bird technology) to simulate real world flight conditions and feeding the analysis back into design.
Experience required for the Design Engineer:
Undergraduate Engineering Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering 3D & 2D CAD modelling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor or CATIA. Demonstrable experience of interpreting test data Prototyping and testing experience Self-motivated with an ability to problem solve
No experience in de-icing systems is required; full product training provided! CAV are looking for a design engineer who is hungry to learn, develop their technical skills and enjoy a varied role, from CAD office work right through to building prototypes and analysing your own results!
