An opportunity has arisen at the Royal Derby Hospital within Gastroenterology, for a part-time Pathway Coordinator to join our secretarial team. You will be part of an administration team of secretarial staff providing an efficient and professional medical secretarial service, within an established team of Clinicians. You will need to be an enthusiastic and motivated team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will require high levels of tact, diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively. The role will involve taking minutes of meetings which is essential; however, training can be provided. Responsibilities of this role cover a wide range of administration and secretarial duties including typing clinical correspondence, appointment scheduling, diary management and dealing with a wide range of telephone queries. A flexible approach to workload is essential. Main Duties of the Job
Previous secretarial or administration experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. An understanding of the 18-week RTT process. Knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy. Knowledge and familiarisation of medical terminology. Excellent organisational and communication skills. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet and email systems. NVQ level III Business and Administration or equivalent knowledge and skills. Minute taking experience preferred but training can be provided.
