Akessa Healthcare is seeking to appoint a Consultant in Rehabilitation (Neuro & Spinal Rehab) to lead the development of outpatient neurological services, as well as support the ongoing treatment and rehabilitation of our neuro and spinal patients. In this role, the appointee is expected to provide comprehensive care for private patients. The appointment is based at two sites: the main base at the Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital in Aylesbury, which offers both outpatient and inpatient care, and outpatient clinics at The New Foscote Hospital in Banbury. The appointee will be provided with luxurious facilities, a caring environment, ample time, and administrative support to deliver world-class care. As a senior colleague, the post-holder will work in close cooperation with and support other clinical, medical professional, and managerial colleagues in providing high-quality healthcare to our patients. A harmonious work pattern is part of our wider commitment to improve the quality and experience of our team. We therefore support and encourage open conversations around a specific working pattern to suit your work-life balance or a multi-role career; if it works for you and the role, we'll do our best to make it happen. Key Responsibilities:

Lead on the development of Neuro-Spinal services. Deliver high-quality care for all patients and support the smooth running of the service. Support efficient management of resources and maintenance of our short waiting lists for private and insured patients. Take ownership of the successful performance against key performance indicators, ensuring zero compromise to the quality of care or clinical excellence for patients. In collaboration with department leads, maintain and develop quality standards and improvement throughout the department and in line with any relevant accreditation requirements. Provide on-site clinical expertise as needed, supporting MDTs as required. Essential Requirements:

CCT in Neurology or Rehabilitation Medicine. Full GMC Registration. Inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register in Neurology or Rehabilitation Medicine. Currently employed, or has previously held a substantive NHS consultant post. Eligible to register with private medical insurance companies (BUPA, AXA-PPP, etc.). Able to take responsibility for delivering the service without direct supervision. A Neurologist with an exemplary record of patient outcomes and feedback. An individual with the ability to learn and champion internal and external IT systems. An agile, dynamic, and dependable individual able to work flexibly and respond to urgent matters whilst following instructions/agreed processes. An ambitious clinician with the desire to learn from their peers, develop their skills, and positively contribute to the success of the hospital group. A diligent individual with high standards who takes pride in team achievement. Commitment to our Core Aims: Professional Service, Clinical Excellence, Quality Care. Demonstration of our Five CIVIC Values: Community, Integrity, Vigour, Innovation, Compassion. The Akessa Healthcare Group is managed and run by clinicians, and we are proud to be part of a highly skilled, diverse team. The New Foscote Hospital was established in Banbury over 40 years ago and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. We have over 50 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified, and experienced nursing and support teams. The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital was established in Aylesbury in 1832 and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. The ownership of the hospital was transferred to our new management team in January 2023, with significant ongoing investment into both hospitals including complete refurbishment of the wards, outpatient areas, reception, staff facilities, radiology, and the construction of additional state-of-the-art operating theatres and endoscopy suites. Our organisation has strong IT, operational, clinical governance, and accountancy support. All colleagues are encouraged to feel empowered and to have an active voice in the management of their services.
