Wood is currently seeking expressions of interest from Senior Electrical Engineers to join our Digital Operations team within our Digital Consulting business. The team supports the execution of electrical scopes across all Project phases (Concept to Start-up). The team are based out of our Hull office. Applications will be considered across the UK and can work either hybrid at any of our UK offices or remote but must be willing to travel to Hull and or site as and when required.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will assist Wood with a wide variety of engineering scopes including assessing and reviewing the requirements on site for our clients. You will have the chance to conduct site surveys as well as completing desk engineering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys variety including working with the clients to provide electrical solutions and assessing engineering scopes to ensure they are fit for the intended purpose.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities: Directs preparation of appropriate engineering documentation for assigned projects, through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases. Ensures successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints. Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work. Evaluates problems, organizes investigations, and establishes general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc. Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of junior technical professionals. Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Establishes detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfil the requirements of assigned general specifications. Responsible for meeting discipline cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports. Recommends changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary. Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required. Provide technical input and support to proposals as required.

Expected: UK Bachelors Degree/HNC or equivalent with experience in the electrical engineering subject. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate. Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates (Trimble ProDesign). Ability to comprehend and interpret Electrical technical information. A strong and capable knowledge of ATEX/UKEX standards (ExF, Ex12 desirable). In-Depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Working level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks. Originate, check, and delegate approval for electrical engineering deliverables. Support interdisciplinary considerations through design reviews and checks. Working level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area. Ability to create functional and cost-effective designs and processes that meet complex specification requirements with little support. Knowledge and experience of the following - Electrical generation, transformation and distribution systems. Familiar in specification and interface management of Electrical requirements for Mechanical packages. Familiar with interfacing with Client Engineers personnel to facilitate project execution. Experience with managing and liaison with Vendors to facilitate project execution. Familiar with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).

Desirable: Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution. Working knowledge and experience of both IEC & North American codes and standards. CompEx 12 Design Application Certificate. Previous site survey experience. Offshore design experience. Shows evidence of ability to guide and mentor others. Experienced user of relevant specialist engineering software (ETAP / SKM / DigSILENT).
